Synopsis

A hilarious (and surprisingly…tender) homage to lovers of bad movies and the people who create them. In the summer of 1989, Italian director Claudio Fragasso cast small town dentist Dr, George Hardy Hardy and a motley assortment of Utah actors in an ultra low-budget horror film which became the undisputed worst movie in history. Soon after the initial release of Troll 2, Dr. Hardy decided he was better suited to fighting tooth decay than goblins, unaware that one day legions of fans would hail him as a cult movie luminary. Drawing on his experiences, director Michael Paul Stephenson reveals the improbable heartfelt story of an Alabama dentist-turned-cult movie icon and an Italian filmmaker as they come to terms with this internationally revered cinematic failure.
