Synopsis
Filmed with a cast of non-professional locals who live and work no more than a few blocks from each other, in the actual locations they inhabit on screen, “Devin’s Ward” is a portrait of a real community and the characters who dwell in it. A simple story of a boy, his mother, and her birthday guides our brief glimpse into the life of this neighborhood at a specific moment in time — warm but protective, brimming with life, but still haunted.
