Louisiana Shorts: Then and Now

Synopsis

In conjunction with the Contemporary Art Center’s exhibit “Then and Now” (which looks at earlier and later work of 14 Louisiana artists), the New Orleans Film Society presents a collection of four short films made by Louisiana that span two decades:
Heavy Brass, a 1998 film by director Paul Grass;
Mutiny, the 1999 Sundance selection by director Henry Griffin;
Glory at Sea, the 2008 Sundance selection (and winner of the Narrative Short prize at the 2008 New Orleans Film Festival) by director Benh Zeitlin;
Statue, the winner of the Louisiana Shorts award at the 2010 New Orleans Film Festival by director Andrew Bryan. (See Andrew Bryan discussing “Statue” and the upcoming screening here.)
