Synopsis

“You haven’t heard the last of us…” were the chilling words on a note left behind by seven armed and dangerous inmates who escaped from a Texan maximum-security prison in December 2000, having decided that the penal system had let them down. What happened over the next six weeks shocked America. The Texas 7 is a film about the most extreme prison escape in U.S. history. The dramatic exploits of the seven desperados attracted the world’s media attention, and threw a spotlight on the penal system of Governor Bush’s Texas. This gripping documentary, from British filmmaker Stuart Clarke, tells the story with unique access to both the prisoners—who are now on Death Row—and all those involved.
