CHANGE: Art in the Twenty-First Century
USA 51 min.
It’s hard to believe that refugee camps could exist in the United States, but that is what happened in St. Bernard Parish after Hurricane Katrina. People who had always been self-sufficient and productive were suddenly without food, clothing, and social structures.
Enter a group of young people, very different in background and appearance from the folks in the Parish, who set up an emergency kitchen that fed thousands of struggling people and also gave them a place to gather, share information, and just be together. The people of St. Bernard and their unlikely benefactors are the shining stars of Made With Love.
