Meant to give good advice about falling in love, this “romance activist” film depicts Helen’s theory that love at first sight is not a strong basis for a lasting relationship. The film illustrates the song “Accidental Romance” noting that the best romance is between best friends. Set in the carnival atmosphere of the South Carolina State Fair, Tunnel of Love features many friends including her good friend and future husband Paul Gailiunas.
Screened as part of the Helen Hill Experimental & Animation Showcase during the 2007 festival as part of a tribute to the late Helen Hill.
