Synopsis
The story of the first-grade children who initiated the desegregation of schools in the South, focusing on three African-Americans who entered the first grade in Nashville, Tennessee, one of the first cities to act on the Supreme Court’s 1954 decision, Brown vs. The Board of Education. The children and their parents discuss the events of those first two days, including the bombing of one of the schools, and the courage required to respond to the Court’s landmark decision.
